Thoughts?
I think it was a little soon, i mean Hejduk is still there, they could have waited a season. Seems to be more of a marketing decision than a team one. Like of course he may be a great leader, but he's going into his second season! I think it'll end up working, but it was a bit unnecessary at this time, especially with the whole cba situation. |

Poor choice, added pressure to a young player, he needs to learn the ropes in the league and be a proven leader year in and year out before being considered for something like that. |

yea, it was pretty unexpected as well, cuz hejduk said he was coming back. O'reilly would have been a good choice as well. |

Its like what happened with crosby, its not cause he was a huge leader he was a dominent player in the NHL and under 25, It also lets the young players know that they are liked here and aren't leaving anytime soon. |

The c isn't something that should be thrown around leadership is very important even when your dealing with professionals at the NHL level |

Maybe it was a bit rushed, but he can handle the pressure in my opinion, they could have given it to someone else like Stastny but, this may give Landeskog a big of an extra spark, he could very easily be one of the better captains in the leagues in a few years. |

yea, the C does get thrown around a little too easily. one name no one has mentioned is Toews. i think he's a pretty solid captain, but i also don't think Landy falls in that category. at least not yet. |
